St marks prospectus

Before we needed to create our own school prospectus we needed to firstly analyse several other school prospectus. We then needed to analyse in detail each prospectus so we were able to notice key features to include in our own prospectus.
The purpose of this was for educational purposes, and the image above shows how I was able to notice key features :)!

Contents page

This is the contents page to my prospectus, and I actually am very pleased how it turnt out!
I made my contents page similar to my prospectus front cover as I thought this made it look more professional and realistic like something the sixth form would give out.
I included images showing the 'new sixth form block' and images of pupils at the six form, I thought this was a good idea as people looking at the prospectus could then get an idea of everyday life at the school!
I also thought showing images of the school itself and classrooms etc would interest all different people, e.g. pupils - see what type of room they would be learning from, parents - can see how new and amazing the sixth form block is.
I did not add many effects to these images as I wanted to keep the images clear and not over do it as if I was looking at a school prospectus and I came across images that had loads of effects applied to them I would not find it very professional and I think it would not look as good.
I meshed my images together with my background, So they was able to blend and have more chance of standing out.

My prospectus!

I have finally uploaded my school prospectus, after several of times making one and changing my mind!
I am proud of the finishing result, although I know there is room for improvement.
I like the effects I have added to my prospectus! and I think the colours really mesh together to make it look professional.
I am also happy with the blending the two contrasts together, as the image had a think border I had to blur all around it to make it look unnoticeble!
The effects I added to my prospectus was 'grain' and I also added the 'soft light' effect to make the image blend in with my background!
I also feathered my logo's to make them blend together with my background when I was applying them to my prospectus.
I still think I need to learn how to learn photoshop more, as I still do not feel as confident as Id like to when using it, and I also want to know fully how to add decent effects to my music magazine to get it to the best ability!

My nature magazine!

On the 28/1/11 we needed to produce a nature magazine towards our coursework.
The aim of producing this magazine was also learning how to use photoshop, and to see if we was able to create a magazine cover correctly, before we do our own music magazine.
I added the mosiac effect to my front cover as I thought this made the main tiger on my magazine cover stand out and look professional. I also thought this made the magazine more interesting as the main image to this magazine had an effect to it.
I then added a big heading so readers were able to know clearly the name of the magazine, as I also think big headings and big mast headings make a good magazine.
I then added two smaller images of tigers at the bottom of the page - I thought this would have a good effect on the readers as if they were able to look at more images of the front page, it may interest them into buying it.
If I was to do this again, I would improve it a lot!
I think there is a lot of mistakes on my magazine cover, as I dont think its very interesting and does not hold any text, which grabs the readers attention if there was a particular heading they liked the sound of!
I like the images I have used, and I also like that I did not over do it with the effects!
So I think to make my magazine more interesting & professional I would need to include more features that a magazine cover actually includes, I could do this by doing further research and looking at actual nature magazine's avaliable to see what the readers are interested to know about!

Im not too good at photoshop as Id like to be just yet! I need to figure out all the effects I could make to my work to make it look the best it can be!

Here is my nature magazine!
